The Super Soaker XP 75 is the first of the Xtra Performance line of Super Soakers, featuring a larger air pump and sporting a larger nozzle. It
packs a decent punch, but leaves a more to be desired. Not that the XP 75 is a
poor quality blaster, but after handling larger blasters, the XP line shows its limitations. The XP 75 is based on the pressurized reservoir system. Its
water tank size is decent for this class weapon, but the opening requires one
to keep the blaster upright and fairly level to keep the water flowing when the
tank is low. One nice feature is that the nozzle is removeable, allowing one
to unleash what many describe as a "riot blast". The riot blast in
a hard-to-aim-but-wide-area-cover blast of water ejected from the opened aperture.
It will drain all pressure within the reservoir nearly immediately and range
is reduced to about 2 meters but the area effected may be worth it. To get the
most out of a riot blast, the tank must be fully pressurized. The XP 75 makes
for a decent main weapon but its power is limited, especially when compared
to the newer XP weaponry.
All in all, the Super Soaker XP 75 helped pave the way for the Super Soakers of today. It can hold up to most XPs and even low-rated CPS-based blasters. However,
it is not adviseable to try facing off against any blaster with a 10x or higher-rated
nozzle.
Pros
Small, light, easy to carry. Despite its size, it packs decent power. It also
does not take too much effort to pump up the firing chamber and has the ability
to "riot blast" one's opponents. The tank provides a respectable amount
of water considering its rate of fire.
Cons
This is a rather small weapon with limited range due to how it is pressurized.
The XP-class nozzle is outclassed by all of the CPS-line of weapons. This weapon
also has a tendency to dribble if overpressurized. The most aggravating point
of the Super Soaker XP 75 is the way the water reservoir attaches to the blaster. It is a pain
to attach and remove with a good chance that the O-ring will wear out after
multiple uses.

The XP75 is a rather crummy blaster. Its capacity is OK, but
it could have used a separate compression chamber (That was fixed in the XP-95).
The XP75 shoots at an medium
distance and doesn't shoot much water.
Here's a MAJOR WORD OF
CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The XP75's water tank has a fatal defect: If you pump
it up too much, the tank will blow off the gun and go cartwheeling through the
air, landing in someone else's backyard. In my squad (The Mandeloriens), we
refer to this effect as "The 75 Blow-Out." The tank will fly off like a missile
and if the tank comes down in someone else's backyard, you may not be able to
recover it.
This can be used as a tactic:
If fighting a person with an XP75, tell the guy to pump his gun as hard as he
can. The guy, thinking, "more pumps more water!!" will obey. When he presses
the trigger, he will suffer from the after effects of an XP75 blow-out (dizzyness,
shock, unable to see through the cloud of mist). As soon as this happens, SHOOT
'IM!!!!!!
