The whole event lasts 3 hours; The "Rules of Engagement" are signed by all generals (each "army" is a cast of a Shakespeare play) and the winners are declared by heated argument in the bar afterwards.  Breaking
from tradition, this year the winners (King Lear - my team) were decided by impartial tribunal at the last night party.  The festival's been going for 16 years, I've been directing with them for 10, but the High Noons are only
5 years old.  And I've won 2 and-a-half of them! - Simon B.
