The Power Drencher is what the Super Soaker SS 50 was known as before it was rebranded in 1991. While more-or-less identical in every other respect to the revolutionary Super Soaker SS 50, the name, Power Drencher, did not catch the public's eye and there was limited advertising done to promote the potential of this water blaster. Of course, that all changed with the rebranding and release of a number of classic commercials for the new Super Soaker brand (see: History of the Super Soaker).

Being a particularly hard-to-find item, this Power Drencher is being kept in its packaging. Its attributes and stats as far as can be determined should be identical to those of the original Super Soaker SS 50. What this water blaster really shows is the importance of naming and publicity to help get a great idea acknowledged by the public.

Pros

First air pressure system to truly revolutionize the water warfare scene; great capacity and power for its time

Cons

Not as rugged as motorized water blasters in its time; requires manual pumping and pressurization before a stream can be produced; must be depressurized completely before refilling.
