The "No Knot" Water Balloon Filler is a simple, easy to use, portable water balloon filler with a twist (or rather, a lack thereof).

waterwarriors_noknotfiller_box01_100The unit, itself, is a compact water reservoir with a top-mounted pump. When completely filled with water, the unit still does not weigh too much. Water capacity is decent and the pump volume is good. One nice thing is that the nozzle on the Water Balloon Filler is tapered, making it easy to insert most sizes of water balloons with ease for filling.

waterwarriors_noknotfiller_closeup4_100The "No Knot" term is not actually for the filler, itself, but rather the small devices that come with the filler that are used to cap the ends of balloons. Basically, these small devices are simple one-way valves with a beveled edge onto which the thick rubber part of a balloon can clasp. The filler unit has a small notch at its top to stabilize these one-way valves, making it easier to put the balloons onto them. The nozzle of the filler is designed to fit snugly into the opening of the one-way valves, allowing for quick and easy filling of the balloon with water.

The "No Knot" devices have a couple of limitations. Firstly, the size of the balloon's opening must be roughly equal to that of the diameter of the device. If a balloon's opening is larger that the device, the "No Knot" valve will not be able to seal the opening properly. Also, if the "No Knot" device is not placed properly in the balloon, as the balloon is filled, it may pop off the valve. As well, while these devices are reuseable, one must collect the valves after use.

Interestingly, thanks to the decent amount of water moved per pump, the Filler Unit can also be used as a last-resort short-ranged water blaster. While a little awkward to pump when standing, it can unleash a decent stream albeit a limited one.

Overall, the "No Knot" concept is a viable one and, for the most part, is easy to use. The Water Balloon Filler comes with 12 "No Knot" valves and a larger number of balloons. There are also refill packs available with more balloons and valves. Great for use on the field when water balloons may come in handy.

Pros

Small, easy to use. "No Knot" devices work well and the filler can be used with standard balloons as well.

Cons

Small water capacity, especially if larger balloons are being filled. "No Knot" valves onto work with balloons of a specific opening size. Valves must be retrieved for reuse.
