- Ratings based on relative blaster size. Please see the Statistics page for more details on the specific terms used.
- Statistics measured are from products and water blasters tested here at iSoaker.com; individual water blaster performance may vary.
- Some water blsater models exhibit more variability in terms of performance (i.e. output, range, and power) across a larger number of soakers tested.

The X-Stream Mega Snapper is an interesting twist on the basic piston-based soaker. The X-Stream Mega Snapper's pump feeds two nozzles that can have the angle between them adjusted by pulling on a forward-positioned trigger. As well, the nozzle assembly can be manually rotated such that the nozzles can be spread left/right or up/down (or at an angle between vertical and horizontal). While interesting, the usefulness of this feature is questionable in an actual water fight.
:: Nozzles
The Mega Snapper's nozzles are adjustable in both horizonal and vertical axes. However, one must pull the forward mounted trigger in order to keep the nozzles spread from their original position. An internal spring will "snap" the nozzles back into original position if the trigger is released. Because of this, setting the nozzles as a specific width other than original or fully spread is difficult, especially since the whole nozzle assembly is pumped in order to make the soaker shoot. If only the nozzles could be set or locked at varying angles without needing to hold the nozzle-angle trigger. The other issue with the nozzle design is the fact that the original position of the nozzles is not parallel, thus even with trigger released, the streams are still slightly angled outwards.
:: Non-Pressurized Reservoir
Being piston-based, the reservoir is not pressurized. Intake for the pump is near to the rear of the reservoir, meaning one needs to tilt the blaster upwards when the tank is getting lower. The reservoir's capacity is respectable for a blaster of this size.
:: Pump
The pump is a typical forward-mounted design. Pumping is smooth and consistent, though attempting to pull the trigger while pumping does make it feel slightly awkward.
:: Overall
The X-Stream Mega Snapper is a unique piston-based soaker. The pump feeds the dual nozzles well and the adjustable angle between the nozzles may offer some benefit, but only in specific situations. Likely useful as a back-up, the Mega Snapper offers some interesting technology, but could be improved upon in later designs.
Pros
Easy to pump and blast. Adjustable angle nozzles can offer useful spray patterns in specific situations.
Cons
Piston-based system means no continuous streams. Pump volume is relatively low. It is difficult to set the nozzle angle at anything other than the original position or fully open when pumping.
