The Water Warriors Power Shots are the newest trigger-based blasters by Buzz Bee Toys Inc., released in 2009. What differentiates them from being classified as a remodeled Water Warriors Kwik Grip is the addition of "Equalizer Trigger" technology. There are four Power Shot designs, but all operate the same way and have more-or-less equivalent capacities.

The Blaster ::

waterwarriors_powershots_1pk_15_100Nozzle ::

The Water Warriors Power Shots feature a single nozzle powered by its trigger. The stream produced by this nozzle is short lived, but decent for a squirt-pistol-type water blaster. Stream performance, however, is improved when the "Equalizer Trigger" is switched to its on position (explained below). Of course, relying on the trigger pump to produce the stream, a continuous stream cannot be produced. At the same time, one can easily carry and use two of these blasters, one in each hand.

waterwarriors_powershots_1pk_16_100Pump / Trigger / Grip ::

The Power Shots' "Equalizer Trigger" is what differentiates the Power Shots line from all other squirt-gun-type water blasters. Unlike other triggers, this particular trigger has a rotatable outer ring allowing one to toggle the "Equalizer Trigger" setting into an "On" or "Off" position. In the "Off" position, the Power Shot behaves like any other squirt-gun pistol. However, in the "On" position, a small spring-loaded tab is allowed to move resulting in initial resistance when trying to pull the trigger; one needs to consequently apply slightly more force, then the trigger-tab releases making one pull the trigger with much greater initial force. The end result is an overall better performing stream since one is pulling the trigger more forcefully through the full pump.

The grip is not too short nor large, but is open and comfortable to hold. Its texturing gives the grip a better feel.

waterwarriors_powershots_1pk_18_100The Reservoir ::

The reservoir on the Power Shots are made of transparent plastic, filled through a top-tethered snap cap. This makes it easy to fill and easy to determine how much water remains. The pump intake is a small opening at the base of the reservoir. However, due to tis small size and some of the uneven surface at the bottom of the resevoir, it is difficult to make use of the last few drops in the resevoir.

Overall ::

The Water Warriors Power Shots are a simple, solid water blasters that offers good power and performance for a blaster of its relative size. The design tested feels sturdy and performed well; the "Equalizer Trigger" setting did make a notable difference in stream performance. However, being still a small trigger-based blaster, a Water Warriors Power Shot user should remain wary of any larger blaster, of course, particularly those capable to producing truly constant streams..

Pros

Small, easily concealable, quick-firing blaster. One-handed use. "Equalizer Trigger" does improve performance though may take a little getting use to. Decent capacity reservoir for the blaster's size and tethered cap.

Cons

Small and easily outclassed by most larger water blasters out there. No clip or holster for carrying.
