The Super Soaker Soaker Wars Rattler is a pump-action blaster released in 2010 by Hasbro Inc. Coming in either red or blue colour-schemes, the Rattler is akin to the 2004 Super Soaker Vaporizer in terms of performance and functionality.

The Blaster ::

SuperSoaker_Rattler_16_100Nozzle ::

The Rattler features a single, average-sized nozzle. The Rattler produces decent streams that feel relatively smooth and solid, though being piston-based, stream performance is dependant on the user.

SuperSoaker_Rattler_17_100Pump ::

The Rattler's pump grip has nice ridges and is a good size, making it feel very comfortable to hold securely and apply good amounts of force. The pump is semi-tracked and movement of the pump is simple and smooth. Being semi-tracked, the pump is not freely rotatable, but this also increases stability of the blaster when pumping.

SuperSoaker_Rattler_18_100Grip ::

As with the Bottle Blitz and Shot Blast, there is no manual trigger on the Rattler. The mid-body grip, however, has a good size and shape, accomodating most sizes of hands comfortably. The grip features finger moulds and nice texturing, being fairly comfortable to hold securely.

SuperSoaker_Rattler_19_100The Reservoir ::

With the futuristic gun-type styling of the Rattler, something had to be sacrificed, namely reservoir capacity. The reservoir on the Rattler holds a decent amount of water, but it is on the lower-side for a blaster of this size. The Rattler features a fully internal reservoir accessed via a screw-on tethered cap. The handle grip is actually also part of the reservoir with an intake tube feeding down into it, able to make use of the majority of the reservoir's contents. The Rattler feels well balanced both when full or when empty with the reservoir supplying able shots for its firing system

Overall ::

As a whole, the Super Soaker Soaker Wars Rattler is a simple piston-based blaster. Its styling and ergonomics make this blaster very nice to use, though being a piston-based blaster, its power is more limited compared to pressurized water blasters of similar size. That said, the Super Soaker Soaker Wars Rattler offers decent performance. Of course, being a smaller, piston-based blaster, one must remain weary of pretty much any larger air-pressure or elastic/CPS-based blaster.

Pros

Simple styling, clean lines, and good solid feel to the soaker. Moulded grip and ridged pump grip make it very comfortable to hold. Decent pump volume.

Cons

Piston-based; continuous streams not possible. No strap.
