The Super Soaker Point Break is the smallest Super Soaker released for 2011. With a similar colouring and solid design to the rest of the 2011 Nerf Super Soaker line, the Super Soaker Point Break matches well as a side-arm/back-up, but its performance is on the lower end of the scale. The Point Break, however, still features a "Tactical Rail" to allow various Nerf blaster add-ons to be attached as desired.

The Blaster ::

Nozzle ::

The Nerf Super Soaker Point Break features a single, small nozzle. Powered by its pressurized reservoir, the stream pushed out is smooth, though lacking in power for a blaster of this size. Its performance feels similar to that of the Super Soaker XP215, but the Point Break is roughly 3 times larger and heavier. Due to its thin stream, its range is limited, though formal range testing still needs to be done.

Pump ::

The Nerf Super Soaker Point Break features a semi-tracked pump; this is possibly one of the best designed pump grips on a pistol-class blaster with great texturing and its shape makes it very comfortable to pump. While the pump pushes air, it does not take too long to pressurize the reservoir. Perhaps one minor complaint is that pumping is so smooth that it is a little unclear when one should stop pumping as there is no significant increase in resistance once the reservoir is fully pressurized. This undoubtedly results in some unnecessary pumping.

Grip ::

The trigger and grip area on the Nerf Super Soaker Point Break, like the rest of the blaster, are well moulded and very comfortable to hold. It appears that Hasbro Inc. spent a good amount of time refining their triggers and grips. The grip is also nicely in line with the pump allowing one to put one's full force into pumping. The trigger pulls smoothly and responds well when released.

The Reservoir ::

The Nerf Super Soaker Point Break's reservoir is styled to match the revolver-like styling of this pistol-sized water blaster. As style has apparently taken priority over performance, the reservoir looks great, but it lacking in capacity for this size of blaster. Holding only twice the capacity of a Super Soaker XP215, this blaster has limited soaking potential. Granted, due to the size of the Point Break's nozzle, the reservoir does offer a decent amount of shot time, some may find the limited capacity and incompatability with the new Canister System an unfortunate design decision.

Overall ::

As a whole, the Nerf Super Soaker Point Break is a beautifully designed blaster, but falls short on available power and capacity. Its single nozzle produces smooth streams, but lacks "oomph" while its reservoir does not provide as much soaking potential as other similarly sized water blasters. The Nerf Super Soaker Point Break likely performs best in smaller skirmishes or as a back-up, paired with a larger, pressurized water blaster. If being used as a primary, avoid any similarly sized or larger pressurized water blaster.

Nice styling, sturdy build, and smooth pump.

Cons

Output on the low side. Range more limited since stream is thin.

Review:

A good tiny blaster, but if you want something more powerful but similar size, get the Water Warriors Goblin instead.
