Super Soaker Soakzooka
The Super Soaker Soakzooka, together with the Hydra, is one of the only modern Super Soakers that can actually be classified as powerful. While it is piston based, meaning you won’t be able to have a constant stream or accurate shots, it compensates with its raw water output and potential range. In fact, it presents one of the biggest nozzles available on modern water blasters (a 6X), which is slightly bigger than the ones you will find on the smaller CPS super soakers like the CPS 1000, 1200, 2100 etc. This, plus a very large piston volume (175 ml), same as the Hydra, makes it so that you are able to easily soak someone with one or two shots.
The range is very variable, depending on how much force you put into the lever, in my testing i applied a decent ammount of force to it, but still not enough to risk comprimising it. Infact, i have seen people that to be able to reach high tier CPS Super Soaker range, applied so much pressure to it, that the plastic lever you pull to push out the water started bending and getting degraded. So, if you are planning on keeping this blaster for some time, i would not advise to apply too much pressure on it.
A thing that i don’t really like about this blaster is the handle, which is placed on top of the blaster, meaning that it feels a bit awkward to hold, and can be a bit tiring. This positioning also means you can’t really shoot over high objects very well, as you are unable to rise the blaster to the end of your arms. At the same time, this weird handle gives the blaster a different feel and look to it compared to most other ones.
Here is a summary of its pros and cons:
Pros:
1) Simple, easy to use, big cap opening for an easy refill.
2) Great water output and range considering all of the other Super Soakers released in those years.
Cons:
1) It is a piston based water gun, meaning you won’t be able to have constant stream or accurate shots.
2) The high water capacity, plus the way the blaster is made, makes it a bit heavy and uncomfortable to use after a while.
3) You need to be careful not to apply too much pressure to the piston.
Weapon statistics:
- Tank capacity: 1900 ml
- Max range at 45°: 11.5 m
- Max range aiming flat: 8.5 m
- Effective range (the max range you will actually be able to get a decent hit on someone): 9-10 m
- Shot output: 175 ml
- Shots in one tank: 10 (plus some weaker shots)
- Output per second: depends on how quickly you pull the piston (if you are quick, you could get 1 shot every 1-1.5 seconds, giving 175-116 ml/s)
Conclusions: The Soakzooka is a very good primary weapon option for medium to high end water fights, as it has enough water output to keep up with even low tier SC and CPS super soakers, the good range also allows it to be hardly ever get outranged, and the high reservoir volume allows you to get a good enough amount of shots before reloading. That said, with this blaster you still need to be carefull about medium and higher tier SC and CPS super soakers, as they will still outclass you both in terms of range and in terms of water output. Finally, you need to pay attention to any high tier Spyra users, as they will still have the range advantage with higher mobility and flexibility. If no one has either of these weapons, you can be confident that you will definitely have the upper hand in the battle.
Overall, i can recommend this Super Soaker to most people, as long as you are willing to sacrifice some mobility and accuracy. At the time of this review (2026), if you find it for 30$/€ or less it is not a bad buy (of course if you are reading this many years after its release the price may be higher), but i also recommend checking out the Hydra, which is a similar blaster but with some advantages over this one.
Ratings: Power: 30. Range: 75. Encumbrance: 50. Ergonomics: 60. Capacity: 55. Overall: 65
