The Super Soaker SS 20 is a later-released pistol-sized water blaster. Though likely good for back-up, a working SS 20 has not been fully tested for review. While pictures have been taken and some basic statistics measured on an acquired model, due to the fact none are made any more, this one will remain packaged, thus output and range statistics cannot be measured.

Though likely good for back-up, the Super Soaker SS 20's small size and output means it would be easily outclassed by almost any larger blaster. This one primarily has only nostalgic value now.

Small, light, easy to carry and conceal.

Limited capactiy and output due to small size.

This was my first water piece and is still my favorite.  My model was the original 1991 yellow body, rear-pump unit as opposed to the later grip-located syringe pump.  Effective at 20 feet with a nice sustained stream for 15 seconds, the rear-syringe SS20 had one quality I will always adore: it fit neatly in the inside pocket of a denim jacket.  Complete stealth assured, easy draw by a right-hander from the left inside pocket. The later version hung up on quick draw with the button on the syringe at the base of the grip.
Drawbacks: yes, you cannot hold much water in it, but, considering the size of the piece, it cannot be expected to do much more as concerns payload.  The other problem was limited durability.  They never did last long.

Okay, some specs:

- width: 39mm (tank is the widest part)
- height (with tank): 152mm
- water nozzle exit diameter: 1mm

I will not be able to get # of pumps, shooting distance, shot duration, number of shots till later this week.

My personal review:

The SS 20 is a great covert water blaster. It is very compact, and due to the VERY small size of the water reservoir, it takes mere seconds to fill. If taken up against other water blasters of similar size, or older technology, it will rule the battle field, but the small water capacity is nearly useless against anything larger (that is easily available today). I ALWAYS carry it as backup as my primary blaster is a CPS 2500. It has no flashy extras, and the only potential weaknesses are the bottle and the rear-action pump. The pump handle has a lip on it which can catch on clothing (or other items) pulling out the pump unexpectedly. When fully extended, the pump arm feels rather loose. This thing is over ten years old now, and has served me well, and will continue to do so until it breaks down.
