The Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire is a trigger-pump-based blaster that features three nozzles that shoot simultaneously. While larger and with greater volume per shot than the Nerf Super Soaker Zip Fire, the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire remains a trigger-operated water blaster and thus has a rather confined upper limit of water blasting performance. As this blaster will not likely see any use in the field due to its confirmed, limited functionality, the item is not being removed from its packaging. However, thanks to the open-style packaging used, most of this water blaster's statistics can still be tested.

The Blaster ::

Nozzles ::

The Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire features three nozzles in a triangular pattern with one nozzle on top and the other two nozzles below making up the base of the triangle. When firing, all nozzles shoot simultaneously and appear to expel roughly equal smounts of water in a slightly spreading pattern. This triple burst results in the blast striking a wider area, thus more effectively soaking an area than a single stream would. However, the limited amount of force and volume water pushed through the nozzles severely constrains this water blaster's soaking power. Also, with the three streams being low in size and output like the Nerf Super Soaker Zip Fire, streams from the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire are easily affected by any wind.

Pump ::

Like the Nerf Super Soaker Zip Fire, the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire uses a trigger-based pump mechanism as noted above. Unlike the Nerf Super Soaker Zip Fire, the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire trigger pump pushes out a little more water per pull, though not very much when compared to true piston-based blasters let along output from true pressurized water blasters. Pulling the trigger creates a near-instant stream, but the stream also only lasts for the duration that the trigger is being compressed. The force of the stream is fully dependant on how hard the user can squeeze the trigger with their finger.

Grip ::

The trigger and grip area on the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire, akin to the current other Nerf Super Soaker models, appears to be well moulded and quite comfortable to hold. In this case, however, since this product is being kept in its original packaging, the actual feel of this particular grip was not fully tested.

The Reservoir ::

The reservoir on the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire holds a little over twice as much as the Nerf Super Soaker Zip Fire. The reservoir occupies most of the body of this water blaster. The Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire also features a snap cap which provides a functional seal, but this one can be somewhat difficult to open sometimes.

Overall ::

As a whole, the Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire is a small, trigger-based water blaster whose three-pronged blast offers a little better performance, but remains primarily suitable for younger warriors. Older users will likely find its output and range very limited while it's three-stream-based attacks, while more effective than the Nerf Super Soaker Zip Fire's single stream, still are a far cry from larger water blaster performance. Useful only for younger users or maybe for indoor use when one does not wish to get anything significantly wet, going up against any larger water blaster would be seriously discouraged unless one is looking to be outclassed upon arrival. The Nerf Super Soaker Alpha Fire has its use in only the most casual or very small scale water fight where any hit would count, but remains rather ineffective at truly soaking your opponents.

Pros

Nice styling, comfortable to hold even for its small size. Three-stream blast provides better coverage than a single stream for a trigger-based water blaster. Decent capacity for a water blaster of this size.

Cons

Limited pump volume and output. Snap cap sometimes difficult to open. Thin streams easily affected by wind. Relatively expensive for its size and performance.
