The WWF Stone Cold Steve Austin is a novelty blaster released by Larami in 2000 alongside another blaster to promote WWF called the Undertaker.  Very little is known is about this blaster, that and the fact being more of a novelty blaster most of you would just think it’s probably useless anyway.  Don’t jump to a conclusion yet though, as the Stone Cold along with the Undertaker uses CPS technology.

The blaster at least looks wise is great.  Very slim sharp and pointy with good solid colours of brown for the body, blue reservoir with a bit of camouflage thrown in, along with the standard orange for the nozzle and trigger.  Also cool how there is a snake face at the front with its tongue ready to do some damage, shame it is only cosmetic and does nothing, best it could do is give your opponent a visualisation of it doing so.  Performance and capacity wise, it is basically a SC 600 in a different shell.  The firing chamber is big at around 25oz and fires for ages out of its 1.4x nozzle.  Even though it takes a bit to pump because of this, after that you won’t need to worry in which you can give your opponent a constant itch.  It is designed so well and smooth as it is just the simple nozzle, pump, trigger and easy filling, so even a monkey could use it without problems.  It is very light too, so it is very much similar to stuff like Diet Coke or Vimto light and such.

While being CPS and actually pretty smooth and easy to use, it suffers the same old problem as the SC 600 does.  It’s just not that threatening and comes off despite having a snakes face on it as just being too gentle and nice, which even in when it comes to water fighting against blasters slightly larger with more raw power and soakage will make it get kicked out rather quickly.  Again having a large firing chamber is great, but not when the reservoir volume is only a litre of water meaning you don’t even get two shots on a single tank, and even if you fill, pump to full then fill again, that’s just only two and a bit shots which even on a blaster like this can get used up quick.  Also it is pretty easy to break the pump since it is not tracked.

As a whole, while a nice novelty that is actually just plain and simple to use and also good for smaller fights that uses CPS technology, again it doesn’t really stand out massively, it is just one of those average blasters.  If you are a collector then it is a good buy, and if you happen to find one for those smaller water fights then yes it is ok.  However given it is pretty rare now unless again you are a collector or really picky then it best to get something more common that is most to serve its purpose better.  It does however have a very good shot time with CPS though, but still there is better out there.

Using the Stone Cold Steve Austin

Because of the long shot time a fair few air pressure blasters are good along with the odd Super Charger, but anything bigger with just a bit more power and higher shots per tank then put it down for something better.  If you don’t have anything else make do or spectate/referee/commentate.

Against the Stone Cold Steve Austin

Watch out for the long shot time.  Stay out the way and make the user waste water.  Then go in and do your worst while the user retreats to refill after only a minute.  Anything larger then it should be pretty easy to overpower the user.
