Summer’s but a season away! Here at iSoaker.com, we’ve completed our testing of the new notable water blaster products of 2013 and are summarizing our findings for you. All water blasters share a common purpose: to push out water over a distance. However, the means and the effectiveness of a water blaster depends both on the pressurization technology used to propel the water as well as the ability of the other parts of its internals to sculpt and shape the stream. The latter of these technologies (i.e. the tubing, lamination devices, and nozzle geometry) deserve their own set of articles. While iSoaker.com already as a page on Soaker Technology Basics, this page really only briefly summarizes the technology that makes our beloved water blasters actually function.
What I am currently gathering and developing content for is a series of articles to dive deeper into the major types of water blaster technology and discuss both how they function as well as look at what makes some variants work better than others though being based on the same underlying technology. The current plan is to start with the simpler technologies (e.g. piston and pump-based water blasters), then progress into air pressure and elastic pressure designs.
Hope to have the first article posted in the coming weeks. We’ll see how well I keep to this goal.

For those who may not know. there is an increased number of attempts recently made by someone or multiple people to gain access into WordPress-based websites. This has led to a number of sites being compromised, though the ultimate intent of breaching sites remains unclear. Thankfully, so far, iSoaker.com appears to be ok, though our system has had a large number of “visitors” attempting to access administrative-level accounts. To reduce the likelihood of a breach, a number of new security measures are now in place. I tried to keep the annoyance to real users to a minimum while making it as difficult as possible for bots and brute-force attacks to make it through. Of course, only time will tell how effective these counter-measures are. In the meantime, I’ll be looking to other ways to secure things though, obviously, there’s nothing 100% perfect.
